PICA is an independent, private nonprofit public charity. Our mission is to offer stability, justice and hope to people in need through personal advocacy and direct services.

What we do best is to serve up a heaping portion of dignity, hope, kindness, and personal advocacy. We are the support system and family for those who have none.

This past year, we provided intensive support and assistance to 1,000 people with no place to live; fed 11,00 people at our Friday evening Community Meal; and provided groceries to 10,00 people who sough help from our weekday Food Pantry.

Our philosophy of caring -

* We charge no fees and turn no one away.

* We offer hope to people who have none.

* Because we care, we help people to care about themselves.

* While "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" works for some, we say "without a support system, most of us will not thrive."

* We meet people where they are.

* We never give up.
